Sami-Matti Trogen will take part to the Super Taikyu -series fifth round, which will be raced at Suzuka during the upcoming weekend

During the last years Sami-Matti Trogen has raced in NLS -series at Nürburgring Nordschleife. He has shown his talent in challenging conditions and has been able to achieve many podium positions in this track that has even been called the most dangerous in the world.

In the beginning of September Sami-Matti got an invitation to race in Japan, where he headed with a short notice without time to prepare. He took part to the fourth round of Super Taikyu -series at Motegi in 7.9.2024.

Trogen got to drive in the free practice session and already then proved his speed to the team, while being able to clock fastest lap times within the team. Unfortunately, the race itself ended to a retirement during another driver’s stint. After the race Sami-Matti Trogen was invited to race in the series for the rest of the season.

-The trip was really interesting. The culture in Japan is pretty different than in Germany or in Finland. Even the breakfast table was an interesting experience. During the weekend we raced with a Mercedes-AMG GT4, which I hadn’t raced with before. The Mercedes felt good straight from the beginning, so I believe that in the upcoming races I will be able to be even faster as I get more experience with the car, Sami-Matti Trogen tells.

There are many different car brands racing in the series, for example Toyota, Audi, Nissan and Porsche. The Japanese brands have dominated the series, but Sami-Matti Trogen and his team aim to give them a proper competition in the upcoming race.

As a teammate Sami-Matti has the 23-year-old Max Salo, and his father Mika Salo will also be at the paddock during the weekend. The career of a F1 driver and his experience will definitely be useful for Max and Sami-Matti. They will certainly receive expert guidance throughout the weekend.

-I got to know Mika and Max during the last race weekend. I was left with a really good feeling, and I believe that working with them will be good and pleasant. I have a lot to learn about the series, team and car, but with them everything will sort out and I’m really excited about this project, Sami-Matti Trogen tells.

The Super Taikyu -series fifth round will be raced at Suzuka in 28-29.9.2024. The sixth round will be raced at Okyama in 26-27.10.2024 and the last and seventh round at Fuji in 16-17.11.2024.
