Sami-Matti Trogen pursues success in the RX2 series
During the season that is about to start, Sami-Matti Trogen will race in RX2 series, which is driven together with the World Rallycross Championships. He claimed his place in the SET Promotion team when he won the Championship of the RX Academy series last year.
This season in RX2 series will be second for Trogen. Last year in the series gave anticipation of his possibilities in the series. He was second in France and fought for the podium place in South Africa. The RX2 Series is driven with a four-wheel drive Supercar Lite car, which has 310 horsepower.
The preparation for the season has gone well, Trogen has trained with his physical coach Juha Koivuporras, raced victoriously in eSports and tested his RX2 car in Finland, Germany and France. The last test before the first race in Barcelona was held in the beginning of the race week in Loheac, where the second-to-last race will be driven this season.
- We sharpened everything to be ready for the race. We had to do a bit of adjustments as this year's car is a bit different than last year's. Everything went well and my lap times were really even, so I was left with a really good feeling, Trogen tells.
Trogen has a clear target, he will drive for the win in every race.
- The target is to succeed. The idea is, that the pace would be constant during the whole season and on the top level. And of course I will always drive for the win. We will work for it so it would be possible in every race and we could get the result that we hope for in the end of the season, Trogen says.
The season starts now in Barcelona and ends in November in South Africa. On Saturday there will be two qualifying heats and on Sunday another two. The weekend will culminate in two semifinals and final on Sunday.
