The 22-year-old Sami-Matti Trogen’s brilliant racing career will continue quite unexpectedly this weekend in Japan.
Sami-Matti will race in the high-class Super Taikyu -series fourth round, which will be raced in Motegi at 7.9.2024.
The invitation to the race came quickly with less than a week’s notice, so practically there hasn’t been any preparation time.
Sami-Matti Trogen will race with the former F1 -driver Mika Salo’s son Max Salo in the Buzz Progress team. They will race in the ST-Z -class with a 550 horsepower Mercedes-AMG GT4. According to the series website there will be 14 teams competing in the class from previous types of car brands, for example Toyota, Audi, Nissan and Porsche.
The series consist of seven races, and it’s raced in Japan. Sami-Matti will take part to the fourth round of the series.
Max Salo is a 23-year-old racing driver who, like Sami-Matti Trogen, has his sights set on a professional career, so they certainly will complement each other in the race.
- I got a phone call where they asked if I was interested in racing with Max in Japan. I don’t tend to say no to driving challenges, so of course I said yes. I will always race when ever it’s possible, Sami-Matti Trogen tells.
Sami-Matti Trogen has built his racing career in various types of motorsports. He has succeeded in rallycross, rally, circuit racing, and is the World Champion in digital racing. He has experience from all kinds of surfaces. He has raced in snow, gravel and asphalt, so we can talk about a genuine expert in motorsports.
This season he has raced in Nürburgring Nordschleife with Aston Martin. During the season he has achieved a win in Pro-Am series.
